  • You may experience minimal downtime, including slight redness or mild sensitivity that usually subsides within a few hours to a day. The SkinMedica® Vitalize Peel applied during the treatment should remain on your skin for at least 4 hours—avoid rinsing or applying makeup during this time. Visible peeling or flaking typically begins 1–2 days after the treatment and can last for 3–4 days as your skin naturally exfoliates and renews.

  • Avoid heavy exfoliation, sunburn, or irritating products for at least 3-5 days prior.

  • It’s best to avoid active ingredients such as retinoids, acids, or exfoliants until peeling has fully resolved, usually about 3–4 days post-treatment. In the meantime, use gentle, hydrating products and be diligent with broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your renewing skin.

  • Common side effects include mild redness, sensitivity, and peeling for several days post-treatment. Serious side effects are rare but should be discussed during your consultation.

  • The treatment can improve skin texture and clarity, which may help reduce the appearance of mild acne scars and congestion. For active acne, a customized plan may be recommended.
