  • Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications (if medically appropriate) prior to treatment to reduce bruising. After your appointment, avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and massaging the treated area for the remainder of the day. We also recommend avoiding dental procedures for at least 2 weeks before and after your filler treatment to reduce the risk of complications.

  • Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site is common and typically resolves within a few days. Rare complications can include asymmetry or small lumps, which your provider can correct. Voluma® is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a known allergy to any of its ingredients.

  • Improvement is typically visible immediately, with optimal results developing within 1–2 weeks as the filler settles.

  • Most clients experience only mild discomfort during treatment. Juvederm® Voluma XC contains lidocaine to help minimize injection pain, and a topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment for added comfort.

  • Yes. Voluma® can be safely combined with Botox® or other fillers. To ensure optimal results, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks after a Voluma® treatment before undergoing additional injectable treatments in the same area. Voluma® can be performed at any time following other cosmetic treatments.

  • The number of syringes depends on the areas being treated and the degree of volume loss. During your consultation, your provider will evaluate your facial anatomy and aesthetic goals to create a personalized treatment plan for natural, balanced results.

  • Most clients do not require a routine follow-up. If you notice any lumps, asymmetry, or other concerns, we recommend scheduling a visit approximately 2 weeks after treatment, once the initial swelling has subsided, so your provider can assess and address them promptly.
